12-24 m² passive air purifier: neutralises formaldehyde and VOCs without electricity

The AIRPURLABS 180 g air purifier cleans the air in a 12 to 24 m² room — bedroom, living room, office — without electricity, without a filter to change and without releasing any by-products. It permanently captures volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde, a carcinogenic pollutant commonly found in our homes, and neutralises stubborn odours (cigarette smoke, mould, drains). Its efficacy was measured by the independent FCBA institute according to ISO 16000-23: −44% formaldehyde within 24 hours and around −30% for the other VOCs tested (toluene, n-dodecane), in a test chamber.

How does the AIRPURLABS purifier work?

The patented AIRPURLABS® active ingredient is held in a wool pad designed to let air pass through continuously. This design maximises the contact surface between the ambient air and the active ingredient, which absorbs and retains pollutants instead of simply masking them. No batteries, no plug, no noise: the purifier works around the clock, placed or hung in the room.

How long does this air purifier last?
Up to 2 years in a 12 m² room, up to 1 year in a 24 m² room. The actual lifespan depends on the level of pollution in the room: candles, incense and cigarettes speed up the saturation of the active ingredient.

Does it really work without electricity?
Yes. The AIRPURLABS® active ingredient works through simple contact with the ambient air thanks to the wool pad — no power supply, fan or battery is needed.

Is it effective against cigarette smoke odour?
Yes, it is one of the odours most often neutralised, along with mould and drain odours.

Where is it made?
In France, in Strasbourg, in an ESAT (a sheltered workshop providing employment for people with disabilities) run by the Fédération des Aveugles du Grand Est — a manufacturing choice rooted in the social and solidarity economy.

The colour I received is slightly different from the photo. Is that normal?
Yes. The active ingredient contains charcoal, which can slightly alter the shade of the pad, especially on light colours. This does not affect its efficacy.
